I ran across this article, "A City Drenched in Sugar," the other day in the New York Times. It's a nice discussion of some iconic New Orleans confections with a little history baked in. Guess all eyes are focused on the Super Bowl which has done an unwelcome and rude cannonball into the heart of Mardi Gras, interrupting parades for a weekend. Boo dat!
Chronicling the annual ride of the Krewe of the Rolling Elvi (KRE) from the perspective of several krewe members, Priscillas Lauren and Marie and Rolling Elvi Tom, a.k.a. the King of Propulsion. This year’s coronation is scheduled for Thursday, February 16 at 6:30 pm. Be there to see the true Kings of Mardi Gras! (Or follow the pageantry, gas fumes, and showers of beads live on the web.)
