What better way to kick off the run-up to the 2010 parade than talking about shoes?! The Priscillas have tired of being mistaken for Muses and being hounded for one of their prized glitter shoes. Last year, our fabulous boots attracted so much attention and envy that parade-goers asked us to take them off our feet and hand them over! Puh-LEEZE!
Well, if you can’t beat them, join them! One of the Muses was kind enough to make some model “blue suede” glitter shoes for us and share some shoe painting and beglittering tips. It seems that blue puff paint gives a suede-like appearance, so there you go! I also had to try out the can of blue velvet spray paint which was kind of messy and disappointing...so I had to add more glitter. How tragic!
As you can see, we’re just having all sorts of fun with glitter, sequins, feathers, and our favorite fuzzy aqua cheetah fabric. The first one has turned out so fine, I may have to go dig in my closet and make myself a pair to strut around in! Gorgeois!*
*pronounced gorzh-WAH. It’s a lot shorter than saying “so fabulously tacky you won’t be able to contain your jealousy.”
